Western Undergraduate Exchange
The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program through which degree-seeking students from a participating state may enroll in other participating state institutions and programs at a special, reduced tuition level. Tuition for WUE students will be in-state fees plus 50% of that amount, which is substantially less than nonresident tuition.

AUTOMATIC QUALIFICATION FOR WUE
New students direct from high school who graduate from an accredited high school and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and a minimum ACT composite of 20 or SAT combined score (critical reading + math) of 950, will automatically qualify for the WUE award. New transfer students pursuing their first bachelor's degree with 14 or more transferable credits and a cumulative transfer grade point average of 2.8 or higher will automatically qualify for the WUE award. Students must be from participating WUE states.
CONSIDERATION FOR WUE AWARDS
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION AS A UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO WUE STUDENT
To receive full consideration for WUE, an undergraduate applicant must:
1. have a completed admissions application, along with required test scores and transcripts, on file with the university. To receive full consideration for other scholarships have your application and supporting documents on file before February 15 prior to the semester of enrollment; and
2. be from a participating state.
No separate application form or notation is required; you will automatically be considered for a WUE award when you apply for admission.
WUE TUITION AND FEE BENEFIT
Students receiving the WUE award will pay 150% of the institution's in-state registration fees, in addition to any special fees associated with specific classes. Although WUE students are classified as nonresidents of Idaho, they are not assessed out-of-state tuition.
Example: If the current registration fees at the University of Idaho were $2,205 per semester or $4,410 per year; WUE students would pay $3,304 per semester or $6,608 for an academic year, compared to the $14,490 per year nonresident tuition and fees.
CONTINUATION AS A WUE STUDENT
Students may enjoy WUE tuition status for up to 5 years depending on any transferable college credit. Students must maintain continuous full-time enrollment of 12 credits or more per semester and a 2.0 cumulative institutional GPA. Continuous enrollment is defined as enrollment in both fall and spring semesters. Summer term enrollment is not required. Students not continually enrolled will lose their WUE tuition status. Students with special circumstances that prevent continuous enrollment may appeal for reinstatement of WUE tuition status.
